Ideally located on the River Frome The Bristol Hotel offers luxurious comfort and convenience as well as some of the best views over the historic city of Bristol
The road side of the Bristol Hotel may look austere and unwelcoming but inside it is a completely different story. Guests step into a bright, welcoming reception area. Pockets of secluded lounge areas throughout the ground floor offer the perfect place to chat with friends and family and plan days out.
On the far side of the reception rooms, through the bar area, is the Riverside Grill where breakfast is served. This restaurant is also open all day for lunch and dinner and the floor to ceiling windows look directly over the River Frome outside.
A total of 187 rooms and suites on six floors offer some of the best views in Bristol city centre, over the River Frome just before it flows into Bristol Harbour. Guests can choose from standard double rooms, deluxe rooms, junior suites and suites. All the rooms are well equipped with large screen LED TV’s, USB charging ports, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary mineral water, bundled bathrobe and slippers and Temple Spa toiletries in the modern bathrooms.
Facilities in the hotel include a small but well-equipped gym and conference facilities in a separate building. The newly opened Rick’s Bar is the perfect place for a cocktail and small plate. Especially on a warm summer evening sitting outside watching the traffic on the river. Since opening this bar has quickly became one of the hotspots in the city.
The Bristol Hotel is easily accessible by car, public transport or plan as Bristol has its own airport serviced by an airport bus. Bristol’s Temple Mead Station is a twenty-minute walk from the hotel but also on the A1 bus route (the airport bus) which stops outside the hotel. Discounted parking is also available in the adjacent multi-storey car park which is accessible from inside the hotel. At the time of writing the charge was £16 for 24 hours, paid to the hotel.
The hotel is ideally placed for some major attractions in the city centre. A short walk away, across the Prince Street Bridge on the Prince Warf, is the M Shed. This free to enter museum relating the history of Bristol is housed in the huge former dockside transit shed M in the old city docks. It features a maritime collections both inside and outside the building as well as special events and temporary exhibitions and a café with a large seating area outside. Further along, in an area known as Spike Island, is the historic SS Great Britain built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and a must see while in Bristol. Bristol is also famous for hosting international events, in particular the annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. During this three day event hot air balloon ascents take place early morning and early evening (weather permitting) and float over the city centre.
