Christmas on the Isle of Man

This Christmas I wanted to go somewhere different and interesting and the Isle of Man seemed to be the ideal destination.
Here is my story in pictures

Stopping at the Fairy Bridge to say hello to the fairy.

A wild sea crashes onto Douglas Promenade
[cms:asset 14347 title=“Harbour Lights £75 lunch taster menu included very small sharing starter on a large side plate for two people – no extra ‘frills’ for Christmas Day. Very disappointing.
Boxing Day
Despite the continuing strong wind and heavy rain we head for Peel today on the other side of the island. The buses are running today so we take the bus.
The sun comes out as we walk around the perimeter of Peel Castle and a rainbow appears.
We enjoy some Isle of Man Queenies in a bacon bap, sheltering under the walls of Peele castle
This evening we dine in the Lieveken Restaurant in our hotel, the Halvard Hotel, and enjoy an excellent meal. I start with the Harvest Salad and Roquefort Toast.
Followed by the amazing lamb shank.
