Novotel in York, England

The Novotel in York. is nicely appointed on the bank of the River Foss and a short walk from the centre of When I arrived I was warmly welcomed and settled in the lounge for a delightful snack lunch as my room was not ready. My light lunch was really good comprising fresh artisan bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a small salad.

I was very impressed with my room which had everything I needed. I liked the simple decoration brightened by a splash of colour from the redt cushions. My room looked out on the River Foss. That evening I had the hotel’s buffet for dinner and I enjoyed my meal, particularly the salad buffet

In conclusion the hotel was comfortable and convenient BUT for the first two nights I was deprived of my favourite occupation when staying away from home. I like to flop on the bed and watch rubbish on television. Despite reporting the problem six times and each time being told it would be dealt with it was never resolved. Finally a duty manager came up to my room to check the television and agreed that it was unwatchable. He offered me a complimentary dinner so I had room service. That cheered me up. The next morning I was offered a room change. So, it is all about how a problem is dealt with not so much the problem itself.
Would I stay there again? Yes.
